About the event
Artists’ books are artworks in book form, where the book itself becomes the medium rather than just a container for content. They often challenge traditional ideas of reading and structure, using folding, stitching, collage, drawing and found materials to explore ideas, stories or concepts.
Artists’ books can be sculptural, tactile and interactive, inviting slow, hands-on engagement and encouraging the reader to experience the work through touch, material and form as much as through text or images.
Course Goal
Through this 4 week course, you will explore the creative possibilities of artist books - objects made from anything – including: paper, ephemera, collage, drawing and found materials that tell stories through touch, structure and materiality rather than just text. Explore technical skills as well as playful experimentation and personal expression.
