True Colours

Creative workshops and experiences for the LGBTQ+ community in Cheshire

Our artistic sessions and experiences work to bring positivity into people’s lives through creative activities and provide a space to be creative and express yourself in a safe environment.

This project is kindly funded by The National Lottery Community  and Cheshire West and Chester Council.

True Colours is a series of creative workshops that enable people in our LGBTQ+ community to express themselves creatively and freely for positive mental health and wellbeing.

There will also be an opportunity to access free one-to-one art therapy online or in person.

What will happen in the sessions?

Our free sessions explore a variety of visual art forms that allow you to explore your creativity. Including painting, drawing, collage, photography, sculpture, textiles, machine sewing, pattern construction and creative writing.

All equipment is provided, and sessions are open to everyone. Those that want to learn new artistic outlets and those who already enjoy being creative, so you just need to come along!

Who can join?

These sessions are free and aimed towards LGBTQ+ adults and young people. No artistic or creative experience is necessary for these workshops, they are suitable for beginners and friendly guidance and advice is available throughout.

Where will they be held?

We hold most of our workshops in Chester city centre, at our Hub: 10 Lower Ground Floor, Nicholas Street Mews, CH1 2NX. However, we often run workshops out and about so keep a look out for what we have coming up!

Directions to our hub can be found here, and if you would like to know more or require further assistance please contact us so we can assist.

When will they be?

We hold a variety of workshops at different times throughout the week. Workshop schedules can be found on our Facebook and Instagram, or you could subscribe to our monthly newsletter for a breakdown of what's coming up that month.

One-to-one art therapy

There will also be the opportunity to access one-to-one art therapy sessions, which may take place online or in person.

Art therapy can be particularly beneficial for working through distressing issues you may be facing, and can contribute to long term wellbeing.
