We’re celebrating Charlie – a dedicated volunteer whose warmth, compassion, and creativity have made a lasting difference at Radiate Arts. From supporting LGBTQ+ storytelling to inspiring young people, her journey with us has been truly fantastic.

Introduction
Charlie joined Radiate Arts as a volunteer in February 2025 and quickly became an invaluable part of our team. Balancing life as a mother of two while also hosting international students, she has given her time generously across many projects, always bringing kindness, creativity, empathy, and a natural ability to make others feel safe and respected.
Her commitment and positivity have touched every corner of our work, and we’re proud to highlight the incredible impact she’s made during her time with us.
Queer Spotlight Series
Charlie’s contributions began with our True Colours LGBTQ+ project, where she led and filmed interviews for the Queer Spotlight series at Storyhouse Queer in February and again at Chester Pride in August.
Participants repeatedly shared how comfortable they felt speaking with Charlie, praising the relaxed and supportive environment she created. Her empathetic approach helped capture powerful personal stories and ensured everyone felt heard and celebrated.

Supporting Inclusive Creativity
Beyond the True Colours series, Charlie has brought her energy and compassion to several other Radiate Arts projects. She worked with young SEN students through our Visible Voices project at Dorin Park School, supported group art therapy sessions with the Deaf community at DSN, and contributed to our Creative Food project.
In every setting, Charlie has shown an extraordinary gift for connecting with people and helping them feel valued. Her gentle encouragement and creativity have made a difference to participants across all ages.
Shaping the Future of Radiate Arts
Charlie’s involvement has gone beyond project delivery. As a member of our steering group, she has offered thoughtful insights and fresh ideas that have helped shape Radiate Arts’ future direction. Her integrity and commitment to inclusion have strengthened our organisation and the communities we serve.

A Journey of Growth and Purpose
When Charlie first joined Radiate Arts, she was in a period of reflection, exploring her next career steps. Through her experiences with us – particularly working alongside young people – she discovered her passion for teaching.
Now, she is pursuing a PGCE, inspired by the creativity and confidence she nurtured in others through her volunteering. We’re honoured to have supported part of her journey and proud to see her continue to grow and inspire.

A Lasting Impact
Charlie’s presence has greatly enriched Radiate Arts and the communities we work with. Her kindness, dedication, and genuine care for others have left a mark that will continue to ripple far beyond her time with us. We’re so grateful for everything she’s contributed – and excited to see what she does next!
